UNFI is working with our suppliers to minimize environmental impacts across shared value chains while also strengthening our collective ability to adapt to climate related risks. We believe these efforts support supply chain resilience, strengthen supplier relationships, help manage operating costs, and can enhance long term value creation for our business and partners.
Our Climate Action Strategy
To address our impacts, UNFI has set three science-based emissions reduction targets–covering our fleet, facilities and value chain–which have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
With nearly 90% of our value chain emissions coming from the goods we purchase and distribute to retailers across North America, UNFI cannot achieve our goal to reduce our carbon footprint without our suppliers succeeding in reducing their emissions.
