Fraudulent Loan Scams and Prince of Wales Lottery Commission

May 8, 2009: It has come to the attention of United Natural Foods, Inc. (“UNFI”) management that UNFI checks are being distributed as part of internet and/or mail scams.  These include checks distributed as a loan offer where fees or taxes are requested from the recipient or checks purporting to originate from the Goldengate Financial Group and Prince of Wales Lottery Commission.

Please be advised that UNFI and its subsidiaries are not affiliated in any manner with any sort of loan transactions or lottery activity, and have no connection to the aforementioned groups.

Any UNFI check received as a loan offer or from the Prince of Wales Lottery Commission is fraudulent and was not issued by United Natural Foods, Inc.

Please disregard any materials received or contact local law enforcement as these are fraudulent documents and are not in anyway connected to United Natural Foods, Inc.
