UNFI's York, PA Distribution Center Awarded LEED Gold Certification

June 7, 2010  The United States Green Building Council has awarded UNFI's York, PA Distribution Center LEED® Gold Certification. This award indicates that this distribution center is a high performing, energy efficient building when compared with others of the same size. The achievements needed to receive this certification included the reduction of water use by over 40% by using motion activated sensors and flow controls and HVAC and refrigeration systems that function without CFC based refrigerants. In addition, there is safe bicycle storage and shower/changing facilities for associates to encourage the use of alternate transportation. Check out the fact sheet>
