UNFI Completes Acquisition of SunOpta Distribution Group

June 14, 2010: UNFI (Nasdaq: UNFI) has completed its acquisition of the assets of the SunOpta Distribution Group. SunOpta (Nasdaq: STKL) is the largest distributor of organic, natural, kosher and specialty foods in Canada and will now do business under the name of UNFI Canada. With this completed transaction, the acquired SDG (SunOpta Distribution Group) business is now a wholly owned subsidiary of UNFI, operating as UNFI Canada. With this acquisition, UNFI has become the largest distributor of natural and organic products in North America.
