UNFI Donates $20,000 to The National Wildlife Federation
August 1, 2010: In response to associate inquiries and concerns about the environmental impact of the BP oil spill, and after researching options, UNFI has decided to partner with The National Wildlife Federation. The National Wildlife Federation has on the ground cleanup efforts in place and has pledged 97 cents of each dollar donated to train volunteers, collect data, and raise public awareness of the spill’s environmental impact. Both the UNFI Green Teams and Helping Hands Committees have contributed budgeted funds to support the NWF and, as a result of their generosity, $20,000 has been donated on behalf of all UNFI associates.
