Hershey Import Company to Become Woodstock Farms®

June 1, 2009:  Hershey Import Company, UNFI’s Edison, NJ based manufacturing division, announced today that the company will be adopting the name of UNFI's Flagship Brand and will now be known as Woodstock Farms®.  The name change will be a “soft” transition over the next 30 – 60 days with the Hershey Import Company name continuing to be used in the interim.  A final changeover date will be announced at a later time.

Woodstock Farms® (formerly Hershey Import Company) is an importer, processor, and distributor of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, trail mixes, and snacks.  The plant is Organic certified by QAI, Kosher certified by Circle K, and audited annually by Silliker Labs for Food Safety Systems, achieving their “GOLD” rating in each of the past 5 years.

The plant has on site roasting capability, both oil roasting and dry roasting, as well as on site trail mix blending capability.  In addition, the plant has recently added granola baking capability.  Packaging capability include stand-up gusset bags, pouch bags, square tubs, & round tubs.  In addition to packing Woodstock Farms®, the plant is the packer for many private label brands sold by major retailers throughout the United States.
